George Simas Elected President and Chief Operating Officer of Flexcon Industries Company RANDOLPH, Mass. - January 1, 2005 - Flexcon Industries is pleased to announce that at a recent meeting of its Board of Directors, George Simas was elected President and Chief Operating Officer of Flexcon Industries Company. Former President, Thomas J. Swan, Jr., will retain the titles of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Flexcon Industries and Chairman of the Swan Group. The Swan Group is a privately held business entity consisting of Emerson Swan, Flexcon Industries, Smith’s Environmental Products, Skidmore/Vent-Rite Valve Corp., Sytec Systems, Global Water Solutions, H2O Solutions, and the Swan Realty Group. Mr. Simas is a 29 year veteran of the Swan Group, with fifteen years of service at Emerson Swan and the last fourteen years at Flexcon, in the successive capacities of Vice President of Sales, Executive Vice President and now President and COO. During Mr. Simas’ tenure, Flexcon has grown from a start-up manufacturer of pre-pressurized diaphragm tanks to the second largest manufacturer of such products in North America. Mr. Simas has overseen the implementation of Flexcon’s sales and marketing strategy throughout the United States and elsewhere around the globe. Prior to joining Flexcon, Mr. Simas worked in plumbing and heating industry sales where his product knowledge and industry contacts are extensive and his management expertise spans three decades. Mr. Simas has been an active participant in industry associations, having chaired several subcommittees and task forces on behalf of the industry. Most recently, Mr. Simas has spear-headed an industry-wide effort to approve a third-party certified water well pressure vessel materials and construction standard that is intended ultimately to be written into state codes. In conjunction with the announcement, Thomas J. Swan, Jr. released the following statement, “I have had the privilege of working with George Simas for almost thirty years.
